I've been receiving lots of spam e-mails this past few days coming from different different people and websites. For unknown reason, I received e-mails about buying viagra (hehe don't know how they get my e-mail address), from paid to click sites, from unknown individual and companies saying that they earned thousands of dollars from joining a certain website (which I know that it's a scam), or they had inherited a business or bank account and they are hiring me as their assistant - just like this spam e-mail i received offering me to be her banker assistant.
The spam e-mail is from a certain Mrs. Victoria Mambebe. I don't remembered having a transaction with this person, so I'm thinking how she'd manage to know my e-mail address. Thanks to Gmail's efficient spam filtering feature for accurately filtering those e-mails having spam content to the reliable ones. Anyways, I would like to share the content of the e-mail to warn others who might become the next victim of this type of modus.
If you receive this kind of e-mail from this person or of identical content above, then don't fall for it, disregard the e-mail and don't waste your time replying the mail, it is definitely a scam. Please inform your friends and anyone close to you about this modus online.
Good Morning Dear...My name is Mrs Victoria MAMBEBE, and I am a banker. It is true that we have not met each others in person, but I strongly believe that no trust, no friendship in every business. I have a deceased customer’s pending fund, which I am his personal financier adviser before his accidental death, that being the main reason why I alone working in the bank here, know much about the existence of this fund and the secrets surrounding this money. But before I disclose the full details to you, I will like to know your interest and willingness to assist me by reverting back to me with your :Private Email ID……………
Age…….…Private Phone no………………. for further confidential details about the said fund. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.Mrs Victoria MAMBEBE.

Tech Tips: Never Put Your Laptop on Your Bed

One of the greatest benefits of using laptop over desktop computer is portability. Laptops are very portable; you can bring it and stay connected online, watch movies, finish projects, edit images or video clips wherever you are - even in your bedroom. While there's nothing wrong in bringing your precious notebook or netbook on your bed, you should be extremely cautious on where you place it before going to sleep or when going out of the room. Putting your laptop on your bed for a couple of hours without turning the power off might cause fire that would turn your home sweet home into ashes - just like what happened in a house located in the United States.
This story was shared by the Philippines National Police to give warning to those who loved to place their laptops on top of their bed for a couple of hours without turning it off.
A couple lost their 25 year old son in a fire at home on June 4th. The son who had graduated with MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison two weeks earlier had come home for a while. He had lunch with his dad at home and decided to go back to clean up his hostel room. His father told him to wait, to meet his mother, before he went back for a few days. He decided to take a nap while waiting for his mom to come back home from work. Some time later their neighbors called 911 when they saw black smoke coming out of the house. Unfortunately, the 25 years old died in the three year old house. It took several days of investigation to find out the cause of the fire. It was determined that the fire was caused by the lap top resting on the bed. When the lap top was on the bed cooling fan did not get the air to cool the computer and that is what caused the fire. He did not even wake up to get out of the bed because he died of breathing in carbon monoxide.Bedroom stuffs such as mattresses and blankets are soft and can easily catch flame when excessive heat is applied, while laptop normally emits heat after a couple of hours used especially if there's no cooling fan. There's a greater risk of these bed stuffs to catch fire if this "flat iron-like" laptop is placed on top of your bed.
This risk is real, let's make it a habit not to place your laptop on your bed especially when you are charging it, to avoid such incident of catching fire. Tell your parents, sons, daughters, colleagues, friends, anyone you know that has a laptop not to place their gadgets on top of their bed. If it's inevitable to use laptop on your bed, use something that will prevent your laptop having a direct contact with your blankets or mattresses, like a small table.

It's very unusual to see the Alaska Aces's bench having a new head-coach taking the helm, but it's the reality - it started tonight. However, not all debuts would end up happy as Alaska Aces's new head coach Joel Banal's debut was spoiled by the crowd favorite Brgy. Ginebra Kings in the 37th PBA Philippine Cup sunday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
Eager to bounce back from their opening day loss to Rain Or Shine ElastoPainters, the Kings showed great determination and energy from the opening tip until the final buzzer sounded, notching their first win of the season by beating Alaska Aces 83-72.
It was a balance attack for the Kings, led by 17 points and 7 rebounds by KG Cañaleta in what was dubbed as his best game in Ginebra uniform. Mark Caguioa finished with 16 points, Mike Cortez with 12 points and JJ Helterbrand scored all of his 7 points in the early minutes of the final quarter, thus increasing their lead to 17 points; from 61-51 to 68-51.
The Aces seems to be a bit confused on the system, managed to trim down the lead 70-63 with more than 5 minutes to play, but Caguioa ignited an 11-3 blast to put the nail in the coffin.
Surprisingly, the Aces was led by their rookie Mac Baracael with 20 points while Sonny Thoss finished with 16. Missing in action were L.A Tenorio and Cyrus Baguio whose combined output was only 15 points.
GINEBRA 83 – Canaleta 17, Caguioa 16, Cortez 12, Tubid 7, Helterbrand 7, Intal 6, Wilson W. 6, Villanueva 6, Labagala 4, Mamaril 2, Cervantes 0, Wilson J. 0.
ALASKA 72 – Baracael 20, Thoss 16, Dela Cruz 8, Baguio 7, Tenorio 6, Cablay 5, Custodio 4, Reyes 4, Salamat 2, Eman 0.
Quarterscores: 17-20, 34-32, 61-51, 83-72

Rain Or Shine showed composure down the stretch by playing excellent defense, escaping Powerade Tigers 96-93, notching their second win and a share at the first spot (with Petron) at the PBA Philippine Cup.
For the 2nd time in as many games, the ElastoPainters was in another closely fought games, but they have shown composure on both games; one against Brgy. Ginebra Kings and doing the same thing tonight versus Powerade.
Rookie Paul Lee once again showed another explosive game despite having 3 early fouls in the first half, scoring 19 points, grabbing 5 rebounds and dishing off 3 assists, but it was the defensive efforts of Jeff Chan that ensured the Painters the win, preventing the Tigers from sending the game into overtime.
Gary David got the loose ball after the intentional miss of his teammate Celino Cruz, but his attempt from the right corner to tie the game was spoiled by Jeff Chan. He managed to recover the ball, but he's shot didn't even hit the rim. Chan also finished the game with 19 points.
“I consider this as a good sign,” said Painters’ coach Yeng Guiao. “We’re winning close games. Before our tendency was to collapse but now we proved that we can close out close games.”
“Paul Lee made one or two misjudgements,” said Guiao. “He’s still a rookie, but as I said he’s special. He’s getting together well with our players and maganda naman ang samahan. The chemistry is getting better.”
Doug Kramer led Powerade Tigers with 16 points while Gary David only managed to score 14 points, after scoring 31 points in their opening games vs. Shopinas.
The scores: Rain or Shine 96 - Lee 19, Chan 19, Norwood 11, Arana 10, Quinahan 9, Rodriguez 8, Belga 7, Buenafe 6, Ibanes 3, Cruz 2, Matias 2. Powerade 93 - Kramer 16, David 14, Anthony 13, Lingganay 12, Lassiter 12, Calimag 11, Cruz 7, Martinez 3, Adducul 3, Crisano 2, Allera 0, Antonio 0. Quarterscores: 21-21, 40-39, 68-65, 96-93.

While the world is mourning for the death of the man behind the most famous name of gadget in the world, a tribute logo for the company that Steve Jobs founded has become a web hit - an evidence of how influential Steve Jobs and his company Apple Inc. over the past 50 years.
This Apple Tribute Logo (image in the left) has become viral and has become the mostly shared image in social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, as well as in various blogs where this logo that shows the original logo of Apple Inc., except that the bitten portion of the Apple was replaced by the face of Steve Jobs. The logo was created by a 19-year old student Jonathan Mark Long, as a tribute for Steve Jobs.
As a person who idolized Steve Job's significant contribution in the field of Information Technology by creating IPhone, IPod, IPad and Macintosh that have become the yardstick of every company that follow the footsteps of Apple Inc, this Apple Tribute logo deserves a spot in my blog.
I firmly believe that technological age would never been this wonderful and interesting without the products created by Apple Inc.
Rest in Peace Steve Jobs, your contribution to the world of Information Technology will always be remembered. You'll always be the inspiration for each and everyone who aspires to become like you.

The first server is just like the usual remote site, where the malware posts and gets information and commands. The second C&C server, however, caught our attention. The second C&C server is a blog site with encrypted content,"
This was the first time that Android malware implemented this type of attack - using blog site technique to communicate with its server.
